1. Check the Fabric

• Cotton – Easy to wash at home
  
• Silk – Prefer dry cleaning
  
• Georgette / Chiffon – Gentle hand wash
  
• Rayon / Viscose – Cold water, very gentle handling
  
• Linen – Mild wash, air dry
  
• Heavy embroidery / zari – Best to dry clean
  

2. Hand Wash (Safest Method)

• Fill a bucket with cold water and mild liquid detergent.
  
• Turn clothes inside out, dip in and out.
  
• Gently move in water; do not rub.
  
• Rinse with clean cold water 2–3 times.
• Press gently to remove water; do not wring tightly.
  

3. Machine Wash (If Fabric Allows)

• Use gentle/delicate mode with cold water.
  
• Put clothes in a laundry bag.
  
• Wash separately from heavy clothes.
  
• Avoid high spin speed.
  

4. Drying

• Dry in shade to prevent fading.
  
• Use a wide hanger to keep shape.
  
• Avoid tumble drying for delicate fabrics.
  

5. Ironing

• Iron inside out.
  
• Use low heat for silk or synthetic fabrics.
  
• Place a thin cloth over embroidery before ironing.

• Wash dark colors separately the first few times.
  
• Dry clean expensive or heavily embroidered outfits.
